About me

Hi, I’m José Quinonez, a New York City native who moved to the South 28 years ago. Today, I create custom tattoos in Moncks Corner for clients throughout Charleston, Summerville, and the surrounding Lowcountry.

My creative journey began in culinary school, followed by a decade working in restaurant kitchens. About twenty years ago, I fell in love with tattooing, and I’ve been doing it ever since.

My specialty is black-and-gray realism. I also work in traditional, fine line, blackwork, and dotwork. Whatever style you have in mind, I’ll work with you to create a tattoo built around your vision and where it belongs on your body.

What to expect

  1. 01

    Share the idea

I want to understand your vision and what this tattoo means to you. Send me plenty of reference photos, along with a description of your idea and the story behind it. Tell me what you like about each image—the style, subject, mood, or specific details. The more you share, the better I can understand what you’re picturing and help shape a piece that feels personal to you.

  2. 02

    Shape the piece

I’ll review your idea and reference photos, then follow up with you to refine the composition, scale, and placement. Together, we’ll explore how the design flows with your body, which details matter most to you, and any adjustments that could strengthen the piece. Once we’ve settled on a clear direction, I’ll explain the next steps so you know what to expect.

  3. 03

    Tattoo day

I recommend having a snack before your appointment or bringing one with you. We’ll go over your ideas, confirm the placement, and discuss any last-minute adjustments before we begin. After your tattoo is finished, I’ll walk you through the aftercare.
